EDITORIAL

Editorial

FULL-TIME

The Editorial team works directly with our international network of Fortune 500 company executives, board directors and industry experts to curate exclusive company insight through a our multimedia channels.

Skytop Strategies is seeking a full-time Vice President of Editorial Content to join the team. Full-time editorial responsibilities include seeking out high-level business intelligence narratives centered around timely, relevant corporate insight for an executive-level audience. Full-time editorial VP’s are responsible for writing long-form feature-style pieces, maintaining a pipeline of shorter Q&A-style pieces, conducting daily research on relevant industries for exclusive timely insights (see our piece on the Dyn hack as an example), coordinating with other departments to identify sources, maintaining aligned schedules with the marketing team, analyzing readership analytics, proofing marketing/program materials on request and other general copywriting, proofing, and content-driven tasks. Full-time responsibilities also include identifying potential media attendees and conducting outreach in advance of programs. As Skytop Strategies continues expanding as a content-driven media firm, full-time editorial responsibilities will continue to grow and evolve according to the development of our programs and the editorial department.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate Q&A’s with a variety of featured speakers, sponsors, strategic partners and relevant sources in the run up to programs
  • Write long, feature-style pieces that align with our programs in our respective interest areas that leverage visibility of featured speakers, sponsors, strategic partners and relevant sources
  • Drive website traffic via content generation across platforms (Skytop Strategies website, Forbes column, media partner sites, other outlets)
  • Participate/assist in on-site or off-site on-camera interviews with featured speakers/relevant sources
  • Conceptualize potential data visualizations for exclusive Skytop Insights through relevant data collection
  • Create copy for eBlasts, social media, other in-house and external documents
  • Conduct basic copyediting on published content
  • Conduct research on potential subjects for Q&As
  • Conduct research on established topics to support longer form feature pieces

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA in Journalism, Media Management, Marketing or related field. (BA in Business with interest in writing/editorial also considered)

PART-TIME

Skytop Strategies is seeking a part-time Editorial Content Coordinator to join the team. Part-time editorial responsibilities include maintaining correspondence with a variety of sources, collaborating with the marketing team to align content with publicity, generating multimedia content across platforms, and forming and maintaining client relationships to create a network of valuable sources from conferences and subsequent interactions. Part-time editorial coordinators will complete tasks as assigned by full-time Vice Presidents of Editorial to assist editorial production across the board. As an expanding team, part-time editorial responsibilities will continue to grow and evolve according to the expansion of our programs and department.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive website traffic via content generation across platforms (Skytop Strategies website, Forbes column, media partner sites, other outlets)
  • Generate Q&A’s with a variety of sources in run up to programs
  • Generate data visualization for exclusive Skytop Insights by breaking down data and providing to marketing team for design
  • Create copy for eBlasts, social media, other in-house and external documents

ENGAGEMENT/ RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

Engagement (Delegate & Sponsorship Teams)

Skytop Strategies’ Engagement teams (Delegate & Sponsorship) create and execute strategies designed to capture revenue on upcoming programs. Team members utilize targeted emails, phone calls and networking events to express educational value and business development opportunities inherent in senior-level conference programming. An understanding of subject matter and core practice areas is important to build the case for participation, in addition to maintaining strong communication with executives.

Responsibilities:

  • Outreach to prospective participants (delegates & sponsors) to build the business case and secure involvement for upcoming conferences
  • Manage numerous senior-level connections in an effort to maintain and build valuable long-term relationships
  • Organize follow-up and facilitate feedback cycles, pre-program and post-program
  • Conduct meaningful marketing research to support the engagement process
  • Research firms and participants across multiple practice areas
  • Utilize verbal communication via phone and in-person meetings
  • Manage numerous ongoing relationships with senior-level executives
  • Cross-sell sponsorships and delegates to maximize revenues
  • Sponsorship Specific* Create, submit and review proposals with prospective firms

EXECUTIVE OFFICE COORDINATOR

EXECUTIVE OFFICE COORDINATOR

The Executive Office Coordinator helps develop the core capabilities of our entire staff, specific to our mission and processes to expand our understanding of how to manage within a highly integrative organizational setting.  The executive office coordinator reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer, and is responsible for assisting them with day to day office-wide operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving calls and obsessive note-taking on behalf of the executive committee, CEO, or other executive body.
  • Coordinating office-wide communications between departments and maintaining a schedule of daily operations.
  • Keep teams up to date with annual and monthly milestones according to our company’s objectives (critical path).
  • Monitoring the critical path to ensure deadlines are reached on time.
  • Assisting teams with projects and reporting status updates via inter-office communications.
  • Translating notes into short briefs for inter-office distribution.
  • Meeting with each team and reporting status updates to the CEO and Executive Committee at the beginning and end of each week.
  • Troubleshooting daily activities to ensure consistent and professional performance of all conferences and programs.
EVENT PLANNING

EVENT PLANNING

The Event Planning Executive is responsible for maximizing the customer experience through flawless execution of logistics while successfully negotiating appropriately with venues and related parties. Selecting venues from around the world, that are engaging and appropriate for our delegates and sponsors. Communicating with caterers with the capacity to meet the needs of our highly discriminating delegates and sponsors. The Event Planning Executive must also manage expense flow according to in-house finance rules and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching venues & communicate efficiently with teams to coordinate proper time/place alignment for future programs.
  • Researching catering options for every conference and presenting them to the Event Committee for approval
  • Work with catering staff on site to ensure fluid and continuous delivery of catered goods.
  • Submit RFPs (request for proposals)
  • Ensure that food & beverage budgetary requirements are met, including all order confirmations, payment requirements and settlement needs.
  • Work with the Director of Finance to ensure that all F&B funding needed is included into the cash flow statement.
  • Negotiate contracts including F&B, Audio Visual and room layout/program logistics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in event management & communications
  • BA/BS or working towards degree in Hospitality, PR, Event Management or related field.
FINANCE

FINANCE

The Finance Team is responsible managing the day-to-day cashflow, payroll, insurance and all related financial activities of Skytop Strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly organize and oversee the accuracy of Quickbooks system.
  • Present and review with CEO and COO business cash flow, individual conference P&L reports, payroll spreadsheets weekly.
  • Manage A/P system to ensure smooth and timely payment of invoices.
  • Manage A/R system to ensure timely receipt of payments according to negotiated terms.
  • Oversee payroll system for timely pay day management
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, insurance, payroll related taxes and submission.
  • Work with accountant, attorney, payroll services to ensure smooth financial management

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

The Marketing Communications team creates, executes and evaluates strategies designed to drive brand awareness, website traffic and sales through various methods of advertising.  Marketing communications activities include creating email blasts, social media content, website updates, content distribution, and client experience surveys. Additionally, the Marketing Communications team is responsible for designing, managing and packaging any and all creative content for the company, including digital and print advertising, on-site branding materials, posters, flyers, cards, pamphlets, name tags, and website updates.

Responsibilities:

  • Create research-backed advertising campaigns for various channels including Google Adwords, AdSense & others.
  • Contribute to upcoming marketing plans & budgeting.
  • Review analytics to evaluate campaign performance across channels.
  • Align lists and mass email releases in accordance with master schedule and insights from the sales team.
  • Evaluate click through response rate of mass email communications and distribute reports to various teams.
  • Increase social media engagement to drive brand awareness & company value.
  • Brainstorm with the Managing Director of Marketing, designers and the CEO to design creative advertisements for distribution.
  • Ensure timely delivery of partnership, sponsorship, and on-site materials for distribution.

The Program Development team builds conference program agendas, and develops high-level discussions on-site. The department works to enhance each program year over year through content research, recruiting qualified speakers, hosting content-based pre-conference planning calls, and ensuring flawless execution of conference programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit qualified speakers and reshape the agenda to fit their particular expertise.
  • Collaborate with Event Planning, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure that program requirements and sponsorship accommodations align.
  • Ensure flawless execution of conference programs on-site, facilitating introductions to speakers and taking rigorous notes for future program agendas.
  • Research and draft conference program agendas to share with speaker committee for review.
  • Update the website with agenda changes.
  • Organize/execute pre-conference planning calls.
  • Make program Powerpoint slides complete with interactive polling questions.

The Strategic Partnership Team

The Strategic Partnership team builds and maintains relationships with various organizations from around the globe that serve, represent, and network with the public corporate sector. It is in charge of researching relevant participants, working collaboratively with company representatives to provide mutual value in marketing our conferences, and ensuring participation and overall satisfaction of partners on and offsite. This team internally works very closely with the sponsorship, engagement, and marketing communications teams to leverage our efforts and help bring elite professionals together for important high-quality conversation.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate core deliverables with partners based on marketing capabilities and company needs
  • Write and edit partnership agreements based on coordinated deliverables
  • Follow-up with agreed upon deliverables to make sure partners follow through
  • Derive conference value through the initial participation of executive organizations
  • Collaborate with the sponsorship and engagement teams to meet conference goals
  • Research organizations relevant to a variety of corresponding conference topics
  • Nurture relationships with existing partners and initiate relationships with new partners

Responsibilities:

  • Designing SEO guidelines to implement across digital marketing products including webpages, articles, video and other online content
  • Implement link-building campaigns in accordance with SEO & traffic goals
  • Assist in live-streaming processes for live events
  • Working with the marketing team to share insights on enhancing brand visibility through SEO
  • Creating monthly analyses of current digital marketing efforts to increase traffic, Alexa score & google page ranking
  • Develop and strategically optimize the Skytop Strategies website, articles and social media
  • Review website functionality & traffic patterns for lead generation and conversion effectiveness
